About our company

The Company was established in 1987, having developed from the community pantomimes produced from 1978 at Melton Theatre in Leicestershire, England. Since then we have presented a wide variety of shows in line with our acronym;

"Gilbert And Sullivan Light Entertainment And Kids"

In the first category, we have presented pro-am productions of Trial by Jury and The Sorcerer; fairly traditional performances of Pirates of Penzance, Patience, Pinafore and Ruddigore. Under the banner of light entertainment, we have presented a number of revues for charity, which are always enjoyable for the cast and audience alike.

"And Kids" means that not only do we produce shows largely performed by young people, but we actively encourage young people to take part in all our shows, very often as their first introduction to Theatre, which we regard as as probably the most important aspect of our work.

We do not confine ourselves to the above categories and pride ourselves in presenting shows a little outside the mainstream, such as Cabaret, Jesus Christ Super Star, Chess and Sweeney Todd.

We are all passionate about making great shows and we have great fun in doing so. We have gained a reputation for quality performances and this is borne-out in the press reviews such as those for Sweeney Todd....
